3D Laser Scans of Charney Manor and St Peter’s Church

On 14/04/2022, David Ashby carried out 3D Laser Scans of Charney Manor (Solar, Chapel and Undercroft) and St Peter’s Church on behalf of the History and Archaeology Group. Ian Graham and a team from Oxfordshire Buildings Record were also involved.

A data cloud, together with images, were collected and have produced a really valuable record of these two buildings. The data has yet to be fully analysed and more information will appear here as it is available. For example it enables accurate measurements between any two points whether or not you can reach them, wall thicknesses to measured, floorplans to be drawn and 3D models to be made. David covered some of the findings in his talk on 18 July 2022.

Meanwhile here are a few photos and screenshots to give an idea of the data set.
