St Peter’s Church Parish Records
We are very fortunate that the Parish Records of St Peter’s Church from 1617 to 1974 were brought together in a beautiful book, in the mid-seventies.
According to the introduction, the records were transcribed by Elizabeth Blizzard and a number of copies were made.
Subsequently the Oxfordshire Family History Society scanned the contents of the book on to a CD in pdf format and state that;
Extracts may be made from these transcripts providing the Oxfordshire Family History Society is acknowledged.
This web page is intended to give the reader an overview of the pdf and its contents so that they can decide if it is useful to gain access to it. Guidance is also given as to the various ways to obtain access.
Oxfordshire Family History Society CD
Charney History Group has purchased a copy of the CD. The full contents page of the CD is shown on the left.
Please contact charney.history@btinternet.com and we will endeavour to search for any data on the Charney Bassett pdf on the CD that you may be interested in.
This CD is also available to view for reference in Wantage Library (and maybe other libraries too). It is also available to purchase from the Oxfordshire Family History Website at http://www.ofhs.org.uk/
On a technical note – there is some optical character recognition (ocr) capability on the pdf – that is the capability to search for names – but it is very hit and miss, depending on the clarity of the original typing and subsequent scanning.
