CADS (Charney Amateur Dramatic Society)
Denise Imrie (5 Orchard Close) gathered together a group of ladies from the village to entertain at the Jubilee Celebration in 1977 on the village green, a performance which was also presented at several subsequent events.
The group was expanded and transformed in to CADS, when in 1979 Judy Kendall (The White House) wrote a pantomime. Little Red Riding Hood. The show was produced by Judy and performed in her stable block at Christmas. Two more pantomimes followed. Sleeping Beauty, and Charney Goes West.
CADS also provided entertainment in the evening following the Village Feast with a final performance, Bassett’s Big Top in 1995.
